How to use it
- Choose or drop the PDF you want to make smaller.
- The level is already set to Target size and 200 KB. Change the number only if your form asks for a different limit.
- Press Compress PDF and wait while the pages are processed.
- Check the new size, then press Download compressed PDF.
Where the 200KB limit is used
200 KB is a common middle limit on university admission, scholarship and recruitment portals, usually for mark sheets, degree certificates, experience letters and other documents of one to a few pages.
What to expect at 200KB
- One or two scanned pages: clear text, stamps and signatures.
- Three to five pages of text: usually readable; zoom in to check small print.
- Pages with colour photos: these use the most space, so the tool may lower quality more.
Need to send several certificates as one file? Merge the PDFs first, then compress the merged file to 200 KB.

Frequently asked questions
How many pages fit in 200KB?
It depends on what is on the pages. A few pages of scanned text usually fit with readable results; pages full of photos take much more space. Try it and check the result, since the tool shows the final size before you download.
Is 200KB enough for a certificate or mark sheet?
Usually yes. A one- or two-page certificate or mark sheet normally stays sharp at 200 KB, including stamps and signatures.
What if the portal says the file is too large even under 200KB?
Some portals count 1 KB as 1,000 bytes rather than 1,024. Set the target a little lower, for example 190 KB, to leave a margin.
Will the text in my PDF stay selectable?
With Basic, yes: the PDF is only re-packed more efficiently. Recommended, Strong and Target size turn each page into a compressed image, so the text can still be read and printed but can no longer be selected or searched.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is read and rebuilt in your browser with the open-source pdf.js and pdf-lib libraries, so it never leaves your device.
