Compress PDF to 100KB

To compress a PDF to 100KB, choose your file below; the target is already set to 100 KB. Press Compress PDF and the tool lowers the image quality step by step until the file is under 100 KB, then you download it. Nothing is uploaded.

    How to use it

    1. Choose or drop the PDF you want to make smaller.
    2. The level is already set to Target size and 100 KB. Change the number only if your form asks for a different limit.
    3. Press Compress PDF and wait while the pages are processed.
    4. Check the new size, then press Download compressed PDF.

Where the 100KB limit is used

100 KB is one of the tightest limits you will meet. It is common on government, exam and job application portals for single-page documents such as an ID card copy, a certificate, a caste or domicile certificate, or a signed declaration.

    Getting a document under 100KB

    1. Keep only the pages the form asks for; every extra page uses part of the 100 KB.
    2. If you scanned with your phone, crop to the paper so no table or floor is included.
    3. Compress here with the target set to 100 KB, then open the result and check that names, numbers and stamps are clear.

If the document started as photos, it is often easier to turn them into a PDF with JPG to PDF and then compress that file. For the picture itself, use the image resizer set to 100KB.

    Frequently asked questions

Can any PDF be compressed to 100KB?

Short documents usually can. One or two scanned pages normally fit under 100 KB with readable text. A long scan or a document full of photos may not; the tool tells you if it cannot get there and gives you the smallest version it made.

My PDF is still over 100KB. What can I do?

Upload only the pages the form needs, or split a long document into parts if the portal allows several files. Scanning in black and white instead of colour also makes each page much smaller.

Will the text be readable at 100KB?

For one or two pages, normal-size printed text stays readable. Very small print and detailed photos lose sharpness first, so zoom in on the result before you upload it.

Will the text in my PDF stay selectable?

With Basic, yes: the PDF is only re-packed more efficiently. Recommended, Strong and Target size turn each page into a compressed image, so the text can still be read and printed but can no longer be selected or searched.

    Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDF is read and rebuilt in your browser with the open-source pdf.js and pdf-lib libraries, so it never leaves your device.
